2020 Easter Egg Presentation
To celebrate the Easter season, the Mississippi Egg Marketing
Board recently presented First Lady Elee Reeves with seven eggs
created by The Mustard Seed “Seedsters.” “The Mustard Seed has always held a special place in my heart,” First Lady Elee Reeves said. “I am honored to be a part of this special presentation to recognize and honor the talent of these ‘Seedsters’ sharing the beauty and culture of our great state.” |
The MS
Egg Marketing Board provides educational and nutritional information
to the staff and visitors at the State Capitol along
with a healthy luncheon.
The MS Egg Marketing Board teams up with the MS Poultry
Association to provide an opportunity for guests to test and
perfect their omelet making skills.
Presentation of Easter Egg to Mississippi’s First Lady
The
MS Egg Marketing
Board Presentation of Easter Eggs to the First Lady of Mississippi
has become a tradition for the artists from the Mustard Seed.
Handcrafted eggs have depicted scenes of the Gulf Coast,
the Blues Trail, MS Agriculture, the Pines of Mississippi, MS Catfish Industry, Mississippi
Wildlife and much more. The “Seedsters” and the Egg Marketing Board make the presentation at the Governor’s Mansion.
During the presentation, each artist shares their inspiration
and vision with the First Lady.
This
annual event has continued to grow over the years with many
facets from train, carousel and hayrides to face painting and
photos with the Easter bunny, beef hotdogs compliments of the MS
Beef Council for families to picnic for lunch and the
opportunity for children to dye their own fresh boiled eggs from
Cal-Maine Foods to the incredible egg hunt featuring over 30,000 eggs for children from 0-12 to fill their baskets. This event is also sponsored in part by Visit Jackson.
The MS Egg Marketing
Board participates in Spring Farm Days providing eggs and incubators to hatch baby chicks for the visitors to watch in wonder. Nutritional and educational information is provided
to visitors and teacher packets are distributed for school
groups.
Governor’s Cup at Trustmark Park
One of the biggest rivalries in college baseball is Mississippi State University vs Ole Miss at Trustmark Park. This sold out event provides the MS Egg Marketing Board the opportunity to promote eggs and their health benefits to families.
The MS Egg Marketing Board provides educational and nutritional information to the over
650,000 visitors at the MS State Fair. In addition, the MS Egg Marketing Board provides an opportunity for a lucky winner to go to the MS Egg Bowl (MSU vs Ole MS).
Senior American Day - MS State Fair
The MS Egg Marketing Board is a sponsor of the Senior American Day at the MS State Fair. Quiche and coffee are provided to the attendees along with recipes and nutritional information.

brings small town to life with demonstrations from the oldest operating cotton gin to woodworking, butter making and eggs in an incubator for visitors to see baby chicks hatch. This event is attended by many school groups and families. The MS Egg Marketing Board provides recipes, nutritional and educational information.
MS Ag Museum Homestead for the Holidays
This family fun-filled event features a
Dinner Breakfast Sampler of scrambled eggs, beef sausage and biscuits along with milk and juice for visitors. In addition, Mrs. Claus reads Twas the Night Before Christmas and then is joined by an appearance of Santa. Hayrides, caroling, train rides and more make the night a fun family memory.
